WOW. It’s almost been a month since I’ve made an actual post! If you guys have been following my insta stories then you know what’s been going on with me. It’s about to get real emotional and personal so skip this post if you want. I really don’t care. This last month I was diagnosed with synovial sarcoma cancer. 1-3 out of a million people are diagnosed each year. It’s a rare and evil cancer. It’s hard to hear these words come from anyone. Being a young wife and mother, I have so much to live for. My favorite niece is about to turn two. Ashton has so many more sport games. Finnick is crazy as ever and growing way too fast. Sam has just been amazing and its taken a lot to get where he’s at. It hasn’t always been easy but damn, I can say everything has been worth it. Kind of. 😑 Long story short- the doctors recommend chemo and radiation. I refuse to believe that is my best/only option. However, I DO believe God made humans unique. I know my body can fight this with the right tools and guidance. Once the tumor shrinks they want to do surgery where I would need tendon transplants and possibly metal, depending how much bone they take out. Did you guys know that a side effect of chemotherapy is to possibly gain another cancer!? Don’t even get me started on heart and liver problems. The chances of you ever having kids again are sliiimm. But did you know there are specific foods that fight against cancer cells? That fasting, oils, and cbd have cured so many diseases alone. There are SO many more details and information about my diagnosis but I need to finish watching Batman Rises Again with my husband because that’s what makes me happy. 💕 I hope all of this made sense and was some what in order. My brain is fried from all the information I have been getting from doctors, specialist, and retelling my story multiple times a day so please be forgiving towards me. 😅❤️

people have told me, “miran, you will never be a marathon runner. your too “big” to be one. you should just stick to sprints and shorter distances.”
And I still get this comment given to me! this was engraved in my mind for so long, until a year ago where I knew, it is ALL about the mental game & all about working hard for it. It’s about going after what you want. Running all these miles never came easy to me, it took me literally just this past year that I can run more miles than I’m used too even if it’s hard and uncomfortable. but I know if I work HARD for what I want, I will eventually have my breakthrough. This is my challenge and what I have to face everyday in the running world. All these misconceptions of women having to be skinny with no body fat is not what we want to teach the next generation. We want to show women how to be confident in themselves no matter what their body type is. ———
Like @kiefferallie says, “I’m not the exception, I’m the rule. Let’s break misconceptions and inspire the next generation. Because, together were a force” 👊🏽

In 1986, with a plate of fish and chips and determination, Rev. Happy Watkins locked himself in the office of a Spokane church and set out to memorize one of the most historic and iconic speeches in the world. Almost 12 hours later, Happy would have every line of “I Have A Dream” by Martin Luther King Jr. firmly imprinted in his mind. Happy recalls the first time he recited the speech for then, Washington State Governor, Booth Gardner. “I put my own emotions into the speech. When I finished, it was bedlam, people were crying, tears were coming down Booth Gardner’s eyes, there was a standing ovation. From that day things just took off,” added Happy.
In the past three decades, Happy has recited “I Have A Dream” thousands of times in schools, community centers, hospitals, and in front of large crowds across the region. “It’s been a beautiful journey. I can feel it when they feel it. I can always look in the crowd and see their facial expressions, their tears, and their smiles.” said Happy.
Happy rarely turns down an opportunity to share “I Have A Dream”. Happy was born in the Bronx, but his heart is in Spokane. He moved to the Inland Northwest in 1961 to serve at Fairchild Air Force Base. Once out of the service, he spent years as a grocery clerk, school bus driver, and selling copy machines in North Idaho and Montana. In 1990, he became the pastor of New Hope Baptist Church.
Happy retired last year. At 76 years old, Happy is certainly not slowing down with 16 speeches and events scheduled for this month alone. Every day he gets calls to be by someone’s hospital bedside, officiate a wedding or funeral- he wouldn’t have it any other way. “I’m retired from the church, but not the community. As long as I’m needed, I don’t think I could do anything else,” he added.

So, after long deliberation over the last day, I have realized something. I no longer have "favorite" weddings, because every single one is just absolutely phenomenal, and yesterday's was no exception. Not only was it beyond beautiful, but every single person I had the pleasure of meeting was kind, loving, caring, and so incredibly welcoming. Thank you again for letting me be a part of it! To say it was a pleasure would be an understatement😊 Congratulations to this amazing couple!

Day date on a Sunday with this guy 😍 I’m also super pumped because tomorrow I get the day off!
I have to say that since Shawn and I have decided to take date nights each week, it’s allowing us to be present and really spend time together when life gets crazy. Just like my health and well being, you have to put time into your relationships to. That’s one thing about this journey, this journey on working on myself daily, because of that it has helped my marriage thrive even more.
So fun to beat Shawn in bowling.....😉 love doing life together!
