Endlich wieder draußen laufen - endlich wieder Sonne🌞 Perfekt für einen ruhigen Lauf nach dem H. Steffny Plan. Den Pulsbereich konnte ich meistens auch gut halten, nur bergan musste ich einen Gang runterschalten😳. Wie wars denn bei euch, hattet ihr auch so tolles Laufwetter und habt es hoffentlich auch genutzt😊?
So yesterday I received a call, a very exciting call. RSPCA called me saying they have a place on their team to run the London Marathon! I am so excited and nervous. I always put my in the ballot and I never get accepted, last year I applied for a charity place after I didn't get in and I didn't hear anything so I assumed I wasn't running. Unfortunately one of their runners injured themselves which means 1st reserve (me) is able to join #teamanimal! I am a huge animal lover and this is my furbaby Amber. If I can run this huge distance and put myself through pain but nothing like the desperate animals that the RSPCA help then I will!

Bon, ce n’était pas ma meilleure semaine d’entraînement.

That was fun! Messed up a pristine field of snow. Didn't have me GPS on, so I figured I did 2 miles. But I had fun, its the 6" we got last weekend with a nice frozen coat across top that melted fir a few hours yesterday then froze overnight.

Happy Friday! Have you ever felt like you've been steamrolled into a shag carpet? I have. This morning was rough! I was soooo tired. I dropped my daughter off at preschool and pulled over, hopped into the back seat and closed my eyes for 10 min. I considered driving home to rest but decided to go for a run instead. I didn't need more rest. I needed fire. 🔥I played Flamenco music and was transported to Spain. I felt the heat and the sway of my hips. I felt alive. Movement is my medicine. Now off to join the living! 💚✌🏻
Ever think why am I doing this during a workout?
If you haven’t you’re not human!
Feeling like giving up and fucking off the workout every now and then is normal, I feel it too!
You can’t be on it all the time and that’s natural, you’ll smash some and you’ll let some go but as long as you show up and do something you’re going to build consistency and a resilience against negative thoughts! Very important, this results in discipline!
You know what happens when you’re consistent, disciplined and resilient you achieve your goals! 👍🏻 So next time you get these negative thoughts during a workout, give your self a pat on the back for showing up and do the best you can!

Some where along the way I’ve realized that giving up my career, gaining weight, running less, running slower, losing weight, breastfeeding, the stretchy skin, the extra wrinkles, the lost sleep, booty disappearance, lack of time, extra stress and time management, dirty diaper blow outs, lack of social life, giving up wine, medicating with wine 😂, relationship struggles, dividing and conquering, and the general lack of selflessness that comes with being a mom isn’t a sacrifice, but a gift. THE. BEST. GIFT. ✨ Happy 9 months on the outside to my baby boy!

Saturday. 9 mile easy @parkrunuk sandwich making sure the ankle was ok
Sunday. Rest and time with the family
Monday. Club run with @pbcoachuk hill work and improvements all round. .
Tuesday. Rest from running so a core strength session on @fiit .
Wednesday. Most importantly the wife’s birthday so an early long run of 14miles. No interest in pace just time on feet but the pace was 👌🏻 refuelled with a lovely takeaway treat with the amazing wife. .
Thursday. Rest day
Friday. 2mile best efforts x2. Took this to the track to give it my all and bloody smashed it (even if I do say so myself). 7.4 miles total. Tonight will be another stretch session on #fiit
AND THAT IS ME DONE! .
So happy with this week and this is against a really tough backdrop with work and illness in the family. But take the pressure off yourself and have a flexible training plan anything is possible. .
If you had presented runs like this to me on Monday night I would have said it’s not possible. .
Do what you can and when you can. But most of all DONT BE TOO HARD ON YOURSELF!.

What do you truly know about growth?
Your transformation may take time but if you do the right things consistently, faithfully, and with enough discipline you will not be discouraged. Quit falling off the wagon because when you do it not only frustrates you, it makes you feel like nothing is working. You are in charge, take charge and stay in charge. It’s a lifestyle, it’s a marathon not a sprint. You brush your teeth every morning don’t you? Well treat the journey the same way, pay your dues every damn day. You don’t get a ‘partner’ draw if you don’t pay up, how should you expect to get the same results as someone that stick to the script day in day out when you don’t. Saddle up, if you don’t direct the horse you might not end up where you’d like to go. No one can truly keep you on track, no one can track everything you eat for you, your the only one who can, it’s your body, it’s your journey, put in the effort, take the time to do it, keep doing it, after awhile you will realize you can judge the portions well enough, but at first you have to practice, practice, practice, and not only that, you have to pay attention to what you’re practicing, don’t just practice register it all so you learn from it.
Don’t deny yourself the pleasure and opportunity to reach your physical potential! NOW is the best time !
