Our fourth stop was the Algarve in Portugal. Even in winter this paradise supplied us in beautiful beaches, breathtaking rock formations and yummy food. And beer. They drink a lot of beer here. We'll definitely return 🍻🎉
Together, we form a necessary paradox; not a senseless contradiction. Through the sands of time, through the unforeseen hurdles, through the unwritten, unexpected, and often ignored challenges to our souls, a teachable spirit from the universe brings to light all the mistakes I have made and the pain I must have caused. I have learned from every failure and mistake I have made. These lessons have brought me great insight about the man I want to be for everyone, especially those I truly, deeply, and unconditionally love. One thing is for sure, everyone makes mistakes and we shouldn’t shut people out when they do. Instead, let’s grow from them. Let’s deepen our connections and alignment. Let’s learn to learn from them. Learn to forgive ourselves. Learn to laugh when everything falls apart because, sometimes, it will. Despite feeling like a failure and not good enough for certain people at times, I do know that trying to learn from mistakes leads to my personal growth. Once you truly grasp this understanding of growing from difficult challenges, and allow yourself to be in alignment with the universe, you can truly see your reflection in the soul of another loving, caring human being. You can have that moment you waited your whole life for. When you experience this it can be mind blowing on an emotional level because you realize nothing from the past matters, and every challenge you faced was worth it. When two independent, intelligent, and hard-working souls come together, nothing can stop them from achieving their dreams and building an amazing life for themselves. No matter what that looks like - traditional, untraditional, friendship, romantic - it doesn’t matter. Truth is truth, as long as you never act above anyone or below anyone... and just walk quietly beside them. Let’s all raise the bar in our everyday lives so that we can have an extraordinary future together. #vision#peace#gratitude#hope#faith#leadingedge#alignment#meditation#truth#trust#conversation#friendship#relationship#dreams#soul#universe#life#love#care#reflection#challenge#growth#spiritual#learning#forgiveness#growth#strongerthanyesterday#connection#lesson #1600
INFATUATION vs. LOVE... It's a tricky business this 'relationship' stuff. We feel we know what it's like to be 'in love' but very often, what we're actually experiencing is infatuation.
Infatuation feels amazing. We project an almost-perfect idealisation onto another person and refuse to acknowledge any of their perceived flaws. We can't stop focussing all of our attention on this other being... and on the inside, we hope (with all of our infatuated heart) that they feel the same way about you.
We feel SO LUCKY!
Infatuation actually involves placing the other person 'above' you in your own mind - and you declare this to be unconditional love. But as soon as we raise another person to a higher place than ourselves, we are actually setting them up, to one day, throw them in the pit! The opposite of infatuation: hatred, disdain and persecution. Ever been in a wonderful relationship that turned to shit and ended up bad-mouthing the other to all of your friends? Yeah... that was never 'love'. That was infatuation.
If so, we've got some awesome news for you (and your spouse if you have one)... Craig and I are running a 'Relationships: Mayhem to Magic' workshop right here on the Gold Coast on January 31st. Come along and find out how to move from level 1 'infatuation' to level 100: 'unconditional-as-possible-in-human-form love'. It's free! It's filling fast!
