Amidst the chaos you embrace,
To rest your flow of thoughts
Feel the peace within your pace.
Suppose words just ran together
Leaving punctuation behind,
Without commas or periods
Each sentence would be undefined.

Lacking intervals of rest,
Every note would lose its power
It would be a cacophony at best.
Life becomes more breathtaking
When you remember to take
A breath inside each moment
To give yourself a break.
And in this serene space
You reconnect to your core,
Recovering deeper meaning
You find yourself once more.
Sunday Soul Chat ✨ Practice the pause. ✨I took this picture during our midpoint break while snowshoeing with friends this weekend. The sun couldn’t have given us a better day. As our heart rates rose, our winter layers began to be shed. 🌞 The snow couldn’t have been more gorgeous and fluffy. It glimmered in the sun so much it sparked. ❄️ When we arrived at this spot a friend proposed a collective moment of silence. Together we practiced the pause. We took life in. We experienced every piece of where we stood. The sounds, the sights, the smells. All of it. Why? Because life is meant to be experienced, and beauty is meant to be seen, heard, and felt.✨ So often we let our minds race from one moment to the next; our thoughts half in tune to what is occurring in the present, and half in tune to anticipations for future moments. Practice the pause. Practice connecting to the present. Find the beauty. Fill your cup. Allow yourself the opportunity to experience life and live in moments. Live in the present. ✨

She is the most inspirational woman I know. There’s no need to stop living life! The beauty in balance is living life to the fullest, being part of every memory making moment, and not jeopardizing your health in the process.

🤗 Use your creative brain to make dietary friendly goodies (ahem, #minimalistbaker GFVeg)
🤗 Get outdoors or snuggle up on a mat for movement and mental stillness
🤗 Practice the PAUSE in all the moments of joy
🤗 Count your blessings while you’re washing the dishes, brushing your teeth, folding the laundry.
🤗 Steal pockets of your day to yourself, especially when gatherings abound.

I started this weekend off right!!! I used to work hard Monday through Thursday and then my mentality would shift, and I’d tell myself I’d “earned” the right to do my own thing on the weekend....that would include not working out and eating whatever I wanted. Then I’d start all over again on Monday feeling discouraged that I’d lost all my progress from the week before. Can anyone relate💁🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️😏??! .
I’m so glad I learned that the weekend free for alls had to stop🤦🏼♀️😂
Three years ago I didn’t know the first thing about how to eat like I loved my body, and I didn’t know anything about how to exercise (outside of being a high school and college athlete in team sports). I was used to 2 hours of hard practice a day in a formal setting so I certainly didn’t think that only 30 minutes a day 6 days a week (while rehabbing from 3 surgeries) in my home gym would yield any results. .
So glad I was wrong about that....
👍🏻my trainers (yeah, I have more than one and they are all awesome) only charge me $8.25 a month
👍🏻I go six days a week on MY schedule...not theirs
👍🏻it’s the best $1.38 I spend all week🙌🏻 .

“It doesn’t get easier, YOU get better.”
I’ve had people say that I make this whole fitness journey look easy; that I’m always smiling...well, it’s not always roses and sunshine, folks, as you all know from me undergoing 3 surgeries in the last 2 years🤷🏼♀️
Sometimes I don’t feel like pushing play or eating cleaner, but I continue to do it because I know I need to. I need to for my family, for my health, & for my sanity🤪 I’m doing my best to walk in obedience to what I now know is right and to not let my emotions rule me! And I AM GETTING BETTER...and that’s something to smile about😃 Had a great workout this morning that required less modifying, and that made me smile too😊
If you are are wanting to “get better” too, you know how to teach me. Let’s end 2018 on a positive note and set your intentions for the new year.
While hiking through life and a bull blocks your path, might be a reminder from the universe to pause, to look around, to enjoy. We walk through life with a mission, with an end goal. Often with blinders on, only focusing on that one thing, inhibiting us to see the beauty that surrounds us. Let’s take those blinders off, let’s be still, let’s absorb the world around us. Most of us are very good at saying what we think but not so much how we feel. Teaching yourself to ‘feel’ more and spend less time in your head can be challenging.
Less ‘doing’ and ‘thinking’ and a little more ‘being’ and ‘feeling’ is a tough concept for those who live in their head and wear busy as a badge of honour.
Constantly ‘doing’ and ‘thinking’ will disconnect you from yourself and from others. ‘Being’ and ‘feeling’ will reconnect you with yourself and with others.
