People seemed to like my Anthro 411 post, so I'll throw this at you guys, too. Closet Clear Out. I always see the ad at the top of the app, looking friendly and like it's ready to help me make sales. When, until yesterday, it never did! I haven't been doing this too long (a little over three months with clothes, I think), but I have haphazardly and arbitrarily dropped prices on items these days and thought, "Surely someone will buy it for that price", and then no one would. Sigh. 🙄
Now that I have daily sales, I thought I would mess around with it more and see how it worked out. I had seen this on one of the @thriftyflamingo's YouTube videos and it made sense: When you walk in to a store and they are having a sale, do you see only the sale price? No. You see the original price TOO! This isn't rocket science, if you haven't swiped right to see my other photo -- please do. Now, @thriftyflamingo gives even more great tips than this one - but I need to see what works and what doesn't one step at a time. So, in the description, I made it a point to put, in the very beginning, one of those blue boxed arrows pointing down right next to the original price I had it listed. In this example one of the pieces is a white Vince. sweater. I originally had $45 on it, but it's been in my closet since almost the beginning and I had room to come down. And that's just what I did! I only did this to probably five or six listings and of those, two sold within a couple of hours!
I do not believe this is coincidence, people! It's psychology. Business psychology, literally. Try it out next CCO and let me know your results! You can see that I did offer steep discounts, bear that in mind. 😊 Happy Poshing!!! And check out The Thrifty Flamingo's YouTube channel! They're very resourceful! Grow with me! 💞💞💞
I have about 550 items for sale right now. To some people that might seem like a lot to keep track of (I’m trying to get up to 800 items in the next few months!) but it’s actually pretty easy. Here’s my process:
📌I keep track of my merchandise from the moment it arrives home. I use an excel spreadsheet to write a short description of every single individual item. I like to put specific details about the item that will be easy to search for later on (ex: J. Crew silk peplum blouse). I don’t photograph or measure or list until it’s on my spreadsheet! I also put the date I brought the items home, count how many items I sourced, and calculate the average cost of each item.
📍Next to the description there is a column called “Tote” - once the item is ready to be inventoried and stored away, I just find empty space in one of my tote bins, fold the item, and put it in! That’s it. I don’t put it into a plastic bag before storing it. (No hate! I know this is popular. I do sometimes need to re-fold or even re-steam the item again before shipping it, but I like not using excess plastic. It also gives me an opportunity to do one last look-over). I then go back to my spreadsheet and update it with the appropriate tote bin number. When the item sells, I update that column to say “SOLD”!
📦 When it’s time to find and pack an item that has sold, I do a “ctrl-F” look-up on my spreadsheet. This is where a specific detail comes in handy, ie: peplum - I just search by “peplum” and I can quickly locate the item and the tote bin that it’s in! It’s so easy!
This has been my process since I started selling and it’s worked really well for me. I don’t store things by brand or category, I basically just try and optimize the space in the tote bins as best as possible. I do everything in steps so it’s easy to remember to record everything - I haven’t lost an item yet!
So tell me: how do YOU keep organized!?
Welp...I'm going back to basics! I think it's time to say farewell to the faux wood backdrop I've been using for the last several months and go back to my OG white board!
I was browsing my older sold listings and found myself really drawn to how I used to shoot my shoes and swim suits and it was with my original poster board! The faux wood was fun, and it was my attempt at branding my pictures, but honestly, I can't compete with a clean bright white background!
Sooooo I'm pulling out all my shoes to reshoot, and redoing the shots of the swim suits I just took a few days ago!
Nothing wrong with trying and trying again!...and then going back to your original process!
We continue moving forward with a look at @poshmark. In this clip, I share the mistake I made in the beginning with our approach and how we shifted to see it as more than a sales platform. Full episode of #MFPodcast 204 is in @jlim0025 bio.
I’m through my eight IKEA bag high hugeeeee death-pile this week. Most of this stuff was bought at a dollar sale and I “forgot” about it. 😂 it’s been a task. I’m almost done and motivated to resurrect my little “side hustle”. One of these things sold before I could even put them away. #chaching#resellerproblems#poshmark#poshmarkseller
This is a great pricing guide for beginner resellers, brought to you by @hustleandslow. Use this as a reference when you’re trying to decide if an item is worth purchasing. Do you agree with this chart?

This morning I realized that I haven’t shopped retail in 4 years! We grew up with very little money and buying clothes at the thrift store was always an embarrassing nightmare. I’m so glad that the times have changed and that I now love thrifting! Most of the clothing I buy for myself at the thrift store is actually new with tags. My winter boots were only $1 and BRAND NEW. Non-reseller friends, if you haven’t been to a thrift store in a while, I highly recommend giving thrifting another try! And if you prefer shopping from home, Poshmark, eBay, and Mercari are great alternatives. Your wardrobe, wallet, and the planet will thank you! 💕♻️
#tbt BED, BATH, and BEYOND is my BFF! (The coupons NEVER expire) 😜 Sold the Christian Louboutin Sneakers and the Sam Edelman Bag on Poshmark! Check out my closet on @poshmark! @myclosetkarma Wayyyyy more listings to come! You have NO IDEA how much shopping I’ve done over the years! 😎 Time to list and make space for more of everything BLACK! 🖤 #confessionsofashopaholic
