Started a 25 mile ski today in -7 degree temps and finished the ski in -4 degrees. When the going gets tough I usually try to smile - (because it releases happy chemicals and makes the perceived effort feel a little easier!) - but today was hard to do that because my face froze! So instead I continued to repeat: Fitness isn’t given, it’s EARNED. Do. The. Work. #bebrave#ski#winter#athlete#lovetorace
Made it to the start line this morning. I wasn’t sure even yesterday if I was going to go. I had a old injury flare up that slowed down my plans to build up for my first 5k back after my stress fracture. I’ve been feeling out of shape all week so I adjust my plan and hit my goals for today. . Well, for the most part anyways. Also, thanks to @parkrunusa for putting on this awesome free event!! :) I am sure I’ll be back again and even volunteer at some point!!! 😁💚 #CrissyFieldParkRun#GoldenGateBridge#BackAtIt#LoveToRun#LoveToRace
The most painful part of the race right here. I had just bridged the gap and moved into 4th. The last 2 miles, Simonetta and I went back and forth a half dozen times. With 800m to go she surged hard and nearly broke me. For a moment I conceded 5th position but 50m from the line I surged back and won the battle for 4th. One of my 2019 goals is to always give it ONE MORE TRY 💪 #bebrave#race#snowshoeing#love#lovetorace#blogger
One of my favorite parts of Snowshoe Worlds was working together in an effort to score a podium for team USA 🇺🇸.
There were many moments during the race when I found the courage to dig deeper because I wanted it for all of us. ( Here we are calculating places because we knew we were close to 🥇) Its so important to me to be surrounded by strong, courageous females all working to be #bettertogether
Day 7 Cavareno: Grazie Italy. Your mountains are beautiful. Your culture is beautiful. And your espresso and vino are delicious! Abundantly grateful for sport as it has given me the ability to explore and understand how the world fits together. #neverstopexploring#worldtour#lovetorace#smile

LT Canada Cup 2, the Senior Selections and the Canadian Junior LT Championships included great racing and personal bests from top to bottom this weekend in Calgary. Link to Results:
Day 3 AB Highlights include: Kaylin Irvine and Brooklyn McDougall finishing 1 - 2 in the CC 500 #2 race, while Jeff Ross was 3rd in the men’s event. Connor Howe continued his excellent weekend, winning the men’s 1000 #2 race, and Brooklyn stayed strongly consistent with another 2nd place in the ladies’ 1000. Josh Hathaway led the way in the CC men’s mass start, with Jack Deibert making a close top statement, also topping off a great weekend. Team Canada to the upcoming ISU events including World Juniors, in addition to Alberta’s LT CWG Team will be decided based on the weekend’s results and announced soon by SSC and AASSA.

Day 6 Austria: Took a day trip to Innsbruck and we found the snow! Explored the city on foot, hugged a snowman, indulged in a traditional Austrian lunch with a side of sauerkraut and marveled at the white stuff falling from the sky - one day late. #worldtour#smile#lovetorace#athlete#snowshoeing
2019 Snowshoe World Championship concludes my racing season - and what a year it has been! What I am most proud of is the ability to compete over many surfaces/terrain and varied distances ( Ironman, Half Ironman, epic mountain races, uphill cycling, Snowshoe races, 5k and cyclocross!) I credit this to super smart coaching @pbmcoaching and STRENGTH WORK. #liftheavy#smilebig#lovetorace#isquatednacho
Day 5 Fondo, Italy:
FOURTH OVERALL at the 2019 Snowshoe World Championships (Hi again, 4th 😂😂) .
In all seriousness I feel so proud and honored to have scored this heartbreaking position. I was having a back and fourth battle with an Italian the entire race and I’m not sure where I found the courage/bravery/strength to charge the last 1k climb to the finish - it might have been the insane crowds and espresso consumption. Either way I am proud and happy and even HUNGRIER FOR A PODIUM in 2019. Grazie to my sponsors who allow me to race around the world #lovetorace#snowshoeing#smile#happy#athlete#love#worldtour
First Race of 2019 tomorrow.
I wasn’t a fan of cross country until recently (I was quite often found by close to the medical staff at the end of a race when I was younger), in fact I found running hard until my late teens, my swimming fitness carried me through!
But tomorrow will be my first Shropshire cross country championships 🙈
I have no idea what to expect really, my main worry at the moment is it shorts or leggings weather?!! Good luck to all racing this weekend, especially with it being so close to Christmas Break!! #crosscountry#ukrunchat#trailrunners#runnersofinstagram#raceday#lovetorun#lovetorace
Day 3 Cavareno, Italy: Continued my multiple espresso per day habit and visited the breathtaking Saint Romedio Sanctuary in Val Di Non. Followed this up with some course recon on the man-made snow here in Cavanero. There is not a lot of winter happening (but thanks to the race budget $$$$ they have trucked in enough snow) and the views are still spectacular 😍 #Snowshoe#lovetorace#worldtour#italy#smile#running#winterrunning
