One of the biggest surprises we’ve had with Coop is how emotionally intelligent and aware he is. He can tell if someone has had a bad day and tends to gravitate towards that person and give them extra love. Dogs really are incredible.
Time Hop to one year ago. Baby Finn 3 months old. #LoveFinn
Beautiful Benedict 6 months old tomorrow. 🐕🐾🐾 So he finally get the 3 Staples out of his foot, 10 days after Christmas, as well as the Cone off, after his paw injury (Relief!)🙄 try feeding a Lab with a cone on for 10 days, using a plastic pitcher, then walking him was hard, because he banged into my legs with the cone constantly, I have the bruises to show for it! Lol 😖He is completely house broken, which basically was the first thing he learned, but there are sometimes mistakes. But now he is great and can wait to go.
His teething progressed after the injury healed, but then his last canine tooth fell yesterday, and he is now more calmer and happier. He was shocked by the snow, and wanted to hop about, but got so cold that he began to run back inside after doing his business.😆 He is now 50lbs or more, and almost full grown in terms of hight, but will definitely be more weight in time, between 80lbs-110lbs. We have bonded so beautifully, and training has picked up again, although the injury caused a set back, and the snow doesn't help. Before the snow we had several runs at the back playing fetch with his ball, and he was brilliant, and almost perfectly obedient, minus a few sticks he took temporary interest in.. lol😄I use a dog whistle to play ball, blowing it at every throw!(Sound association) and so when ever he hears that whistle he now looks for the ball. (Sound association very important part of training). We are slowly easing him next to our 9 year old dog, with a hopeful heart, now that teething is over, and will be working diligently, yet slowly towards a close bond between the two. 🙏 I can say for myself and family, we have become very close to Benedict and love him so much! 😊💖💕He makes us laugh constantly, he has been barking at sounds outdoors at night, which I am glad for, and while life with Benedict The Yellow Lab is not easy, it is not lonely and filled with love and adventure, that's worth all the shedding fur, drool, and Ornery moments, that we endure. Let's hope and pray, it can only get better from here on in. Let's grow joyfully in 2019 Benedict! I love him so much!! #labsofinstagram#labradors#labradorretriever#labradorpuppy
