Food is fuel. And your body is like a car. You wouldn’t expect your car to run efficiently by starving it from fuel (restrictive diets), the same way you wouldn’t expect it to run if it hasn’t been turned on for a while (not moving or working out). The key to sustainable weight loss, maintenance, and progress, is fueling your body the right way. How can you expect to have energy for the day and your workouts if you don’t eat nutritious food? With better body composition, as you build muscle, you will be burning more calories at rest. If you find yourself hungry, you body is telling you something. If you can’t concentrate and find yourself irritable, then your body is starving for energy.
Build more muscle. And to build it you’re going to need to have patience, work on recovery, be consistent with your nutrition, and your workouts. @mawarriors
Here is my pre workout meal 2 hrs prior to training:
1 cup of rolled oats
1 tbsp chia seeds
1/2cup mixed berries
I used unsweetened almond milk to make my oats. Added cinnamon. And stevia to sweeten.
2 whole boiled eggs

Homemade Kabocha Bagels with Maple Cinnamon Cream Cheese by @lisakitahara 🧡
bread flour (300g)
2 tsp vegan butter (g)
2 tsp dry yeast*
kabocha pure (100g)
maple syrup (10g)
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp salt
Homemade Cream Cheese:
350g pkg firm tofu, drained
2 tbsp lemon juice
1.5 tbsp apple cider vinegar
1/3 c cashews, soaked (40-50g)
2 tsp nutritional yeast
1 tsp sugar
1 tsp sea salt
Maple Cinnamon Cream Cheese:
1/4 c cream cheese
1/2 tbsp maple maple syrup
1/4-1/2 tsp cinnamon
For the Bagels:
Place all ingredients into a bread maker and let it knead for 15 minutes or until done and has risen (around 10 minutes of sitting time). Watch it knead for the first few minutes and add in a little bit of water as needed if it looks too dry. If making by hand, mix and knead the dough until all the ingredients are incorporated and form it into a large ball and let it sit covered until ball doubles in size.
Flour the surface your working on and your hands. Punch the dough down and take it out onto your working surface. Knead with your hands a couple of times.
Divide dough into 5 bagels and form them into balls. Let them sit for 10 minutes covered.
Roll the dough out and form them into bagels. Cross the tips and fold under to attach the ends to keep their shape. Cover and let it sit for 20 minutes.
In the meantime, heat up some water in a large pot or wok with 1 tbsp of water. Bring heat to a strong simmer. Pre-heat your oven to 200C/400F.
Boil the bagels on each side for 40 seconds each and transfer them onto a lined baking tray.
Place them into the oven for 15 minutes rotating the tray half way. Let them cool on a cooling rack once they’re out of the oven.
For the Cream Cheese:
Remove the firm tofu from the package and squeeze as much excess liquid as you can.
Add in all the ingredients into a high speed blender and use a tamper/spatula to help the cream cheese get as smooth and creamy as possible.
Transfer into an airtight container for storage. Use in cream cheese bagels, in dips and in other recipes that call for cream cheese!

“YOU CHANGED MY LIFE WITH ONE SENTENCE”
... is what a woman told me yesterday, honesty and gratitude shining in her eyes.
Last week, she asked me for tips to slim down her thighs.
I told her the physical steps to doing so, but also asked her:
“Would having slimmer thighs actually make your life better? Would all that effort and sacrifice really pay off?”
The surprise and uncertainty on her face told me that she had never considered that.
She hadn’t considered that the “perfect” body we are conditioned to desire comes with consequences.
She hadn’t considered that changing her body to fit the mold wouldn’t even yield a “net positive”.
Because we’re all made to believe that being...
... would somehow automatically make life BETTER.
I’ve tested that theory. I’ve done the “no days off”, tunnel vision thing.. and guess what? I was even LESS happy than before.
Because at the end of the day, we’re all just looking for PERMISSION to embrace what we already have. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
We all want to be able to just ENJOY this body we live in.
So when I told her this one sentence:
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ “there’s nothing wrong with having thick thighs”
... it was like I turned her world upside down.
She had never considered the option to just EMBRACE her current body. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
And that realization changed her life.
That’s not to say that I’m anyone special or that it was ONLY me who could deliver that message. I just happened to be the one who delivered that truth to her. Right place, right time.
It’s also not to say that you CAN’T have physique goals. But they shouldn’t stem from a lack of self-acceptance or a belief that changing your body will change your mind.
So please consider that you’re perfectly imperfect, just the way you are.
Consider that evolving your mindset and relationship with yourself might be what you need, not changing your body.
Consider that you don’t NEED to change, but you CAN if your heart + mind are working together ❤️

Hahaaaaa! 😂Wine cals don’t count do they?! Nope didn’t think so! This was me last night.... beers, wine, G&Ts! 🤪 Felt pretty delicate this morning, still got my workout in though, (although think I still may have been drunk!) This accountability group thing WORKS!!! I had some of my challengers waking up early before their kids in order to get their workout in so I wasn’t about to let them down! I may not have totally made up for last night but at least it was something and I wouldn’t have done it with out them!
It’s a hard time of year to try keep on track with fitness and nutrition but it’s all about striking a balance and making changes when you can. Even as an online fitness coach I’m not about to tell anyone to stop enjoying the things they love at Christmas, but all in moderation and if you can make some changes in some areas it leaves more wiggle room for the naughty bits! Having a healthy and happy attitude towards food and exercise is what it’s about! Let’s not feel deprived and unhappy! I’m hoping you guys have a brilliant Christmas but also have some good New Years resolutions that you want to smash! .

-2 ou 3 carottes
-1 ou 2 panais
-2 œufs -2 gousses d’ails
-Gruyère râpée ou autre fromage dure
-Épices de votre choix, ici curry/ paprika
1️⃣Râpez ou coupez en brunoise vos légumes, bio si possible comme ça on garde tout.
2️⃣Mélangez les œufs, les legumes et le fromage. Pressez l’ail et mélangez à nouveau.
3️⃣Ajoutez la farine, sel et poivre et mélangez. Dans une poêle huilée, faites de petite galette et faite cuire env. 5mn de chaque côté à feu moyen. Vous pouvez ajouter un peu de ciboulettes ou persil ou coriandres haché sur le dessus juste avant de servir 😋.
Parfait pour accompagnée un plat ou même pour un apéro dînatoire. Ce mange facilement avec les mains. Vous pouvez même les déguster au petit déjeuner, pour ceux qui aime les petit dej salé, comme moi😁. Un vrai régale😁.
À vous de l’essayer. Et encore une fois n’hésitez pas à varier. Changez les légumes, les épices, les herbes et vous verre...la recette trouve tout autres saveur, faites à vos envie. La cuisine est du plaisir🙌🏻.

Hoje é muito maior a conscientização sobre o benefício da redução do consumo do açúcar para prevenção de diversas doenças. ❇ Porém ainda há diversas perguntas no consultório sobre qual é o mais saudável. Costumamos relacionar grosseiramente que quanto mais escuro for o açúcar, mais vitaminas e sais minerais ele tem, além de estar próximo ao seu estado bruto, sem adição de aditivos químicos, no chamado refinamento. ❌
Vamos fazer as comparações:
❇ Refinado: o açúcar que recebe no refinamento aditivos para ficar branco e saboroso, porém perde neste processo as vitaminas e minerais, tornando uma caloria vazia e pobre em nutrientes.
❇ Mascavo: açúcar escuro extraído depois do cozimento do caldo de cana, não passa pelo refinamento e mantém seus nutrientes (cálcio, ferro) preservados.
❇ Orgânico: não utiliza ingredientes artificiais, apesar de mais caro e grosso que o refinado tem o mesmo poder “negativo” que o refinado.
❇ Demerara: semelhante ao açúcar mascavo quanto valores nutricionais e processo de produção. A diferença é que o refinamento do açúcar demerara é mais leve, sem adição de nenhuma substância.
❇ Açúcar de 🥥: alternativa mais natural e saudável, sua extração é a partir das flores da palma de coco, que retira o néctar e é aquecido. É um açúcar calórico com nutrientes, metabolizado de forma mais suave pelo organismo, sem elevar bruscamente os níveis de glicose no sangue. Mas, ainda assim é um açúcar, algo para se utilizar com moderação.
