BAD FORM: LOWER ABS By @JoeActivated (READ MORE👇🏽)
A common problem when performing lower ab exercises (scissors in this video) is that our hip flexor muscles get tired BEFORE the abs get tired which cause us to end the workout before we feel any type of ab progression.
This can be an issue in other lower ab exercises such as flutter kicks, bicycles, etc. Also, a lot of people like to put their hands under their butt to make the exercise easier.
How do we solve this? Sit up a bit and put your hands to the side instead of under your butt. You’ll fit a LOT more lower ab activation which in turn help your lower ab progression! Try it out!!
1st run in over a week!!! I felt like a complete slob! But traveling to Los Angeles with a wee one in tow has NOT been easy... hopefully now that she’s adjusted to the time well be a bit better about getting out for some regular jogs! And if not, whatever, I’m on vacay! 🤷🏻♀️ Gotta have a little grace! ❤️ #fitmomsofig#postpartumweightloss

This is where it starts! 281lbs. It's not pretty now, but the next chapter of my life is to get back into the greatest health I've ever been in. I'll be keeping you all posted on my eating and workouts.
March 2018 vs. Jan 2019 😱
I was miserable. Hated myself. Hated the way I looked. Hated that I had no energy. Hated that I never wanted go anywhere because I was ashamed of myself. Hated that I had to wear tons of layers to feel “covered” and not exposed. Hated that I was always too tired to do anything with my children. And I hated the thought of going to the gym to workout looking like I did. .
A lot has changed since then. But if you’re starting out, maybe a similar size to when I started, and you’re feeling like it can’t happen for you...you’ve tired and tried and always failed. That has been me my entire life! Started a diet and failed. Started working out and failed. But something clicked for me when I lost Elias and I’m never ever going back to that person I used to be. You don’t have to lose someone close to you for it to ‘click’ for you but you do have to lose a few things - like your pride. Going to the gym or for a run when you’re overweight or not as buff as everyone else is daunting...all the fit eyes on you like you don’t belong 😑 but who cares, don’t let that stop you! You also have to lose comfort. Comfort is what will keep you from your goals. It’s so easy to stay inside, snooze that alarm, eat whatever you want and never try anything new but comfort will keep you where you are. And if you’re not happy with where you are you’re gonna need to get uncomfortable! And sometimes you need to lose a few people in your life that don’t support your goals or where you’re going - But in the process, losing weight has been more about finding out who I really am and what strength I truly have! And it’s just the beginning (exciting)
Not the prettiest dinner, but damn is it tasty! This is a super old #ww recipe (I have no idea where I got it from) called Pizza Meatloaf. It’s stuffed with mozzarella and mushrooms, and the meat itself is full of pizza sauce and other yummy flavors. Highly recommend this meal!!! Swipe for the recipe 🥘 (Also, before the veggie police come at me, there is a salad right out of frame 🥗).
Working in the restaurant industry means alllwaaaayyyyssss being surrounded by food. Delicious, rich, indulgent food. I’d be lying if I said I made healthy food choices 80 percent of the time, and only splurged 20. So in an effort to keep my hands off all the breadsticks, I’m fueling up on plant based protein, veggies, and healthy fats before my shift. 🌿🥑 Eating a clean + healthy diet isn’t complicated, but it takes conscious effort and dedication. Here’s to taking it one snack at a time, one meal at a time, one choice at a time. Your body will thank you. Cheers! 💚 #wellnesswarrior
