In view is Masa, a new restaurant designed by Studio Cadena (@BenjaminCadena) in a northern residential neighbourhood of Bogotá, Colombia. The restaurant is built at residential scale, on the site of a former house that had gone through multiple residential and commercial iterations over the years. The 7,500-square-foot restaurant is organized as a grouping of distinct but interconnected volumes, each with a particular function. Says Studio Cadena founder and principal Benjamin Cadena about the design, “The idea is that everything is connected, but the spaces remain fragmented for intimacy. In any space in the restaurant you might hear or smell things that give a sense of the adjacent spaces, but it isn’t completely open. The design defines distinct spatial volumes yet allows you to move through them with the freedom of an open plan.” In the project, indoor-outdoor continuity is intentional, but presents a challenge in Bogotá, where the weather is perennial spring or fall, and can be cold, chilly, or wet. These elements are born of an interest in updating techniques commonly used in Bogotá (such as terrazzo) as well as introducing new ones that are unique to the area.

Congratulations Samantha! 💙 #columbiauniversity#masters#yoshitomanara
✍️ APA style referencing can be tricky if you are not familiar with using it. Our Top Writer & Host, Cath Anne, shares some tips and tricks to referencing your APA format paper!
I was so excited when my glowing friend Shelley agreed to be part of my project about Women of Color and happiness. I asked about her "Happy Place": ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
"Until a health issue required my Aunt Betty to leave her home in Washington, DC, I loved parking myself at her kitchen table. It was circular and white and located against a wall under a window and surrounded by three comfortable accompanying chairs. Aunt Betty was always cheerful and entertaining -- a consummate host. On the table I'd find a copy of the Washington Post and Home Decor magazine. Sitting there, sipping coffee eating the breakfast she'd left for me to warm up, and up, & leafing through a magazine filled me with happiness."
About the photo: we shot this at Shelley's alma mater, Columbia University, another "happy place": "I love the vibe of young people and the curious exercising their intellect in pursuit of knowledge. So I can hardly describe the excitement I felt this evening when I stepped onto Columbia's College Walk with its row of trees wrapped in soft white Christmas lights! It brought back memories of my days there as a student at the School of General Studies."
Cool moment: Shelley and I fanned out when during our shoot we were approached by author, Columbia professor & television commentator #JelaniCobb! Enjoyed a quick chat about cameras (we happen to use the same one). #womenofcolor#colorfulwomenbyLolita#storytelling
Meet PPF Pro, Cecilia Davis-Hayes
If taking on a pro career wasn’t already impressive, Cecilia juggles triathlon with medical school. Talk about time-starved! While in medical school at Columbia University, Cecilia started working with PPF in 2016 to help her achieve her goal of racing at the pro level. She has been able to take 2 years of extended curriculum time where she has been conducting sports medicine related research. Despite all that she does, Matt has been able to craft a plan that leaves Cecilia feeling fit and fresh and excited for both academic and athletic pursuits.
Currently, Cecilia is navigating interview season for her upcoming residency in radiology. Even though she has 35 interviews around the country, she is still optimizing her available training hours. With an interview in CA, she is taking advantage of her travel and racing #IMlaquinta703 today. Best of luck, Cecilia! PPF is very proud to be part of your journey in sport and life!
