  • I never really got a chance to introduce myself... my name is Ruaa Chemali and I have been doing Insurance for about 6 years now. I have led the nation with Westfield Insurance company with over 3.4 million in sales in the Dearborn area last year with little of a goal and more of a passion. I love saving people money and being there for them in an event of a catastrophe. I branched out on my own as an independent agent this past May, as I felt like there was no room to grow with a ceiling working for someone. I don’t like to brag about my accomplishments but this has been one of the best accomplishments I have done in the past few years and frankly I am proud of the reputation and connections I built in this field so far. I sit around agents that have been doing this for 20+ years and humbled enough to take away any great example they set. So when I get those agents or insurance companies asking me how I do what I do with my little experience and age I smile and get butterflies in my stomach every time and say to myself there really asking ME this??? My answer is always... I’m not selling just a policy, I’m providing my clients a shoulder to lean on and trust when a Catastrophe happens and believe it or not, it’s personal it’s never just an insurance policy especially in this type of business, In where I know about you more than your cousin or friends probably do. People are sick and tired of sales people they simply don’t buy it and as a consumer neither do I. Clients will pay a little bit extra to be with someone that is Sincere and caring and in my nature, thankfully I don’t have to try. I get clients calling me to get my opinion about a life changing choice, that’s the type of trust that is built. I get clients that don’t even look at the paper they are signing, that’s the type of relationship I have with each and every client. Being on the same level or beating level of a 20 year experienced agent makes me feel like I’m on top of the world.... the sky is the limit and where I’m taking this is is way far above where I expected it to be and this is just the start....

  • It’s #technicaltuesday at @tonycorefarmers when we discuss some of the “technicalities” of insurance policies. Last week we talked “replacement cost” versus “guaranteed replacement cost.” This week let’s talk about Contractor’s Errors and Omissions Insurance, or Contractor’s E&O coverage. The lack of this particular coverage is a big coverage gap we see a lot of when we’re meeting with potential new clients and reviewing their policies from other insurance providers! Contractors E&O is generally designed to cover negligent acts and defective work, including the accidental use of defective materials. In very basic terms, Contractors E&O Coverage is Insurance for faulty workmanship, which is much different than General Liability Insurance or Products & Completed Operations Insurance. Imagine you’re a roofing contractor and you install a new roof on a doctor’s office in the middle of the bone dry Oregon summer and then a few months later it’s November and we get that first steady unrelenting rain of the winter in the middle of the night on the roof you just installed. Imagine that roof leaks all night and ruins all of the computers and network systems in the building. Imagine it was all because of a mistake you made during the installation. Well in that case your Product & Completed Operations Liability would likely pay for all of the damage inside the building. It would likely replace the computers and the network systems and lost income for your customer. Who’s going to replace the roof though!? Your client isn’t going to pay to do the work again and fix the problem, and your Product & Completed Operations Liability doesn’t cover your work...it covers damage & liability as a result of the product of your work. That’s a critically important distinction. It’s a technicality! Without Contractor’s E&O Coverage you could be stuck eating the entire cost of replacing the roof.
