I convinced my husband to appear into my video for this one since he’s a part of my daily life and my biggest supporter 😂
Although he takes my photos he isn’t on social media (he lost his IG password a while back and never made a new account) but I still like to photo credit him.
Today’s theme makes me think of how yoga impacts our daily life, and for me yoga extends into everything that I do because it has taught me to breathe in difficult moments (like labor - my breath was all I was focused on the whole time) and it has taught me to believe in myself, love myself fully and with that unconditional love I can extend love to others.

3a: half camel... heart open, try to have hips and knees vertically aligned

Sooooo what’s next? 💡 .
Just a little update: on Thursday the 10th, I’ll be hopping on my last plane (booked before I decided to quit flying). So I’ll be heading to Copenhagen for a little bit over a week, before I go meet @earthwanderess (again 😅) in Gothenburg, and then go to Stockholm together for a few days!
Super excited, I’ll be taking some work there with me and filming how I stay low waste and vegan while I travel! 🚂 .
Btw, if any of you guys are in Copenhagen, Gothenburg or Stockholm, hit me up! ☕️
After I come back to Brussels, I’ll finally have some time at home without going away for a while, so I can focus on work and on my health.
And finally, to take the whole “being on my own without any distractions” thing to the next level, in March I’ll be going to Corsica on my own, to my family’s place, to spend 2 weeks completely alone where I’ll be able to focus on work and on myself! (I’m going by bus and boat) With that much time to focus, be ready to see a lot more content from me! 😉

Le Yoga est composé de huit piliers que l'on nomme Yama. La pratique physique (Asana) en est un. Mais pratiquer le Yoga n'est pas seulement pratiquer des postures et des respirations, c'est avant tout un style de vie, un Art à part entière. 🧘♂️
Ahimsa est le premier de ces Yama. C'est le concept de non-violence. La non-violence envers soi-même et envers les autres et plus globalement envers l'environnement. D'où le régime Végétarien ou Vengan de certains pratiquants. 🦌 Mais cela ne suffit pas. Des tyrans peuvent être végétariens, la violence est un état d'esprit non un régime. 🐷

L'une ne peut exister sans l'autre, je pense qu'il ne s'agit pas de "combat" à proprement dit mais de prise de conscience et d'harmonisation, d'unité entre ces deux forces. 🌙☀️

What does a vegan activist couple do on their 3 YEAR wedding anniversary? Uhh @theearthlingsexperience .. duh! 👌😂❤ thank you for 3years of this beautiful incredible union. We've been together almost 5years now but it feels like foreverrrrr... 👽👽we got married with 2 witnesses in a room on a random day like today 3 years ago swipe for the pic haha! We didn't get wedding rings, we got matching tattoos on our hands to celebrate. Everyone was like "what you're too young to get married?!!!" Lol but i love that we don't care cause that's what we felt like doing and i love that we can just be us. And there's no pressure to conform to anything else... I am me and you are you and together we are the best versions of ourselves (most the time 😜😂) ..I have never felt so much love for another human in my life.. my heart could explode with love and gratitude for you right now!!! The biggest blessing 💖 and you came to me when I least expected it so.... there's a sign for you all... love could only be just around the corner. Never give up on love. LOVE is everywhere and all that is really worth it in the end, we love you! And we think that YOU should love you too! Post facial glow 🌟🌟and loving the improvements my skin has made over the last year as I was dealing with some hormonal acne that for the most part has healed up well but still comes and goes now and then.. ( managing stress, food, water 💦 consumption, skin care regime & sleep being the biggest factors I have found helpful to better balance my hormones!)
I also try to go for a proper facial every 3-4 months and today was that day! #Hallelujah 🙌🏼 Got some new products to try out to help protect my skin in the ☀️(for a trip end of Feb) excited to use this sunscreen as I find many natural ones are so thick and hard to apply. I bought one for our trip to Cuba and could barely apply it so I was happy to see this one today and it has a much creamier texture. Also was pleased that the esthetician today gave me these moisturiser samples to try before I buy and see which one best suits my skin (which can be sensitive so I try to keep my products simple) So important to take care of our internal but also the external being our SKIN, the human body’s largest organ! I sure as heck didn’t pay much attention to my skin in my teens/twenties as I never really had acne growing up.. but nowadays I’m giving her all the TLC and she’s giving me mirror high fives everyday 🤓🧖🏼♀️ What are your fav winter skin care tips?! ZUCCHINI TVP PASTA 🍝
Made this dish last night and it was so good! Like most of us who wing it and are experimental, I don't have exact measurements but here's a rough estimate for you to try:
1. I fried cut up 1/8 of a pumpkin and 5 shitake mushrooms in a pan (no oil needed) on medium heat while I sorted the TVP. Don't know what TVP is? Check my explanation in the comments section below ⤵
2. For the TVP I added 1 cup of dry TVP with dry flavours: 2 tbsp nutritional yeast, 1 tbsp garlic powder, 1 tsp paprika, 1 tsp pink salt. Mixed it up then added the liquid which was 1/2 cup of water mixed with a heavy dash of Tamari sauce. Use hands to mix it up. After a few minutes, the TVP becomes soft from the liquid, it resembles a mince texture ✌
3. Add the tvp to the frying pan and continue to cook on medium. Spirulize one zucchini and put to the side (always clean it as you use it.. am I the only one that cleans while they cook? Small kitchen rules 😋)
4. Pesto sauce - I used a food processor and added half an avocado, 1/8 cup of water, dash of garlic powder, 1/4 cup of pine nuts, little bunch of fresh basil, juice of 1/4 lemon, little olive oil. Blended it up and then I added a little bit of water, who knows how much, and also added some greens powder bc you can't taste it and why not up the nutritional value 🤗
5. For this recipe, I ended up using the whole zucchini, 3/4 of the sauce and about 1/2 the TVP mixture. I saved the rest and then fried the zucchini noodles with the sauce and the TVP in the pan before plating. Added tomatoes to ensure I got my 3 colours per meal! ⚁⚃⚀

I think it’s easier to stay focused this way. It motivates and makes you look forward. + It‘s nice to celebrate and having a reason for a celebration.. even better. 😉
Okay this post on lotus doesn’t make as much sense as I would like it to but it’s the general idea.
*It’s not the force of my hand that’s the thing - it’s the force of my legs against my hand.*
The key in this pose is just like most others - use your muscles, use the resistance. This pose isn’t passive, or it can be, but is most helpful when you choose not to make it so. 💪
When I am getting my knee back to prepare my lotus position, I am using the force of my leg muscles pushing into my hands to keep those muscles around the hip & knee joints active while I bring my hip through it’s range of motion. ⠀
The hip ball-and-socket joint, it goes all the way around so it has to be rotated in this lotus there, and not at the knee or ankle joint as I so often see. 😣
This is pretty hard to teach over the internet though and so easy in person. We really need more long-time yoga practitioner teachers and for us to take the time to study with them so we don’t end up with dangerous things like #lotusankle, but that’s for another post soon. 🙈
For now, please know that it is dangerous for your ability to walk/run to stretch the ligaments of your ankle, so if you feel that happening in your lotus - stop. And don’t attempt #lotusankle if you have reverence for all limbs of yoga, including especially the yamas of #ahimsa, #satya, and #asteya. 🙏

✨ This past weekend I had the pleasure of attending a workshop on nonviolent communication and restorative yoga. ✨ • • • •
When teaching yoga there are many words that help students transition into postures in a safe manner with compassion and encouragement to guide the class on their personal journey. Being encouraged to speak with intention so that every single word you say is meaningful and is able to be understood. It seems easier said than done. Speaking to others takes practice and conscious thought. The biggest thing is empathy and awareness of how others feel. Tuning into yourself as a teacher and (a human being) with empathy and compassion is beyond necessary before you teach others. This topic of NVC and talking to other not only through yoga but in relationships in general is absolutely fascinating to me and I want to learn more. 🖤

Once you have taken a beat/breath and thought, If you find the answer is no to any of these questions then begin to see if you can practice the restraint of non-violence by not putting your words out there or finding a way for your words to come from this other fun acronym I learned at yoga teacher training. .
