"When you bring Me prayer requests, lay out your concerns before Me. Speak to Me candidly; pour out your heart. Then thank Me for the answers that I have set into motion long before you can discern results. When your requests come to mind again, continue to thank Me for the answers that are on the way. If you keep on stating your concerns to Me, you will live in a state of tension. When you thank Me for how I am answering your prayers, your mind-set becomes much more positive." —Jesus Calling by Sarah Young
How about some oranges for this Tuesday?
I have never painted fruit and there's something about it that appeals to me... .
So, here ya go.. how was my first attempt? I loved doing the leaves really thick paint.. gives it that very 3d textured effect..
Have an awesome day!!
Love is a fruit in season at all times, and within reach of every hand. - mother teresa
You've got to go out on a limb sometimes as thats where the fruit is.
Patience is bitter to the mind but it's fruit is oh so sweet.
To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest achievement.

You already know what needs
to be done. The problem is that
you have been searching so long
through other people for the answer
that you have forgotten what
your own voice sounds like.
Wearing the new spring collection from @aloyoga this “fierce sweater” is one of my faves 😍🙌🏼

"I wasn't built for routine, stuffy buildings, empty conversations, and fake smiles. I was made for skinny dipping in wild water, sleeping under the stars, 2am conversations that shatter your walls, and smiles that go soul deep." ~Brooke Hampton⠀
Remember to take a few moments each day to simply pause and “just be”. Allow the space to let go of all the busy tasks and expectations we set ourselves.. resist the urge to rush onto the next task, the next location, the next thought..
Release your worries for a moment, take a breath and just... let go.
This beautiful sky was above me when I took my quiet moment for today.. I am so grateful for the sacred pauses in my life. Otherwise I might just miss this kind of magic ✨

With so much going on around us it is easy to lose focus and be distracted. Sometimes just be still.. 🌸 #theindependentmum
What a weird few days in the fandom since @thekillers released #landofthefree. Ignore the shape and tone on this clip (yadda yadda), it's the tone of voice between some Victims thats more an issue for me. Taking pot shots on race and social justice by being offensive and abusive to others flies totally in the face of what the song is trying to say, and what the band have always said theyre about. You got angry cos @thekillers dared to talk about big stuff thats happening in the real world, not in the easy dressed up world of social media? Then the issue is with you, not them. We dont have to agree with the song's sentiment at all, no fan will love everything, but we do need to be civilised in how we communicate - and be respectful of the band's 1st A right to say it. Most Victims engage with respect and the occasional dose of humour but some of the stuff ive seen this week really has been THE PITS. So if you think youll never get over the fact that TK "got political" (hello??), or you just cant debate respectfully with other Victims period, do your blood pressure a favour and unfollow the band. Its easy to do. And surely something you feel so negatively about cant be bringing you any joy, right? Now I'm gonna head into the weekend with the calmness of Be Still in my ears, remembering that 'dont break character' is a bloody good life motto. Even when they drag you through the mud. Be human and decent. Sort of like you would in the real world, you know? .

After a hectic week, I feel so blessed to be able to stop, rest and unwind to this magnificent sunset from where we’re camping.
This week the fear mongers entered my head. I questioned myself more times than I can count. .
When we choose a path in life that isn’t mainstream, that’s new, and we’re daring to live our dreams to make the world a better place isn’t always easy. It takes courage, it takes a strong mindset and it takes breaking through the fears. .
But when I stop and meditate on the beauty that’s around me, for me, I realize that abundance is everywhere. Abundance of beauty, joy, and peace. .
In the stillness I connect to God. I connect to my inner power. I connect to my truth. .
Be still. Get out in nature. Restore your soul. Breath it in. It’s yours for the taking. .

*UPDATE* Right before Christmas, I took my husband to the urgent care and he was diagnosed with a form of Leukemia. As you can imagine, this news were beyond devastating and our lives were instantly and forever changed. As a wife, I had NEVER felt more helpless or scared in my life. It only took 15 mins to get his blood results and we were immediately rushed to the hospital to start receiving treatment. We have committed to trust that God’s plan is much greater than our fears, even on days when things don’t go as we have hoped. Leukemia has brought us closer to Him, given us an amazing support network that rivals any other. We are loved beyond our deserving. God’s grace has been more than evident as we navigate this new journey. We have met many amazing nurses and doctors at the different hospitals he’s been treated, and several have prayed and encouraged us to hold onto God’s promises. I have watched Eric day in and out put a fight with pure grace, fully surrendering and trusting God’s plan for his wellness. Our faithful God is listening, he finished phase 1 and we are praying for more clean scans next week. I want to thank you all who showed concern for us, prayed for us, visited us, brought us food, offered financial help, and listened to us as we walk through this new journey! 🧡 I sincerely apologize for my absence and lack of communication during this past month. Currently, I have extended my processing time but I’m not sure if I will be able to continue with my shop. #valdezstrong#leukemiaawareness#leukemiafighter#leukemiaandlymphomasociety#acutelymphoblasticleukemia#bestill#godisgood

Be Still “Be Still, And Know That I Am God; I Will Be Exalted Among The Nations, I Will Be Exalted In The Earth!” ~Psalm 46:10
When We Get Too Busy With All The Cares Of This World
And Have Too Much Noise In The Background Of Our Lives;
We Limit Our Ability To Hear God’s Voice
And We Miss What God Is Saying
And Doing Within Us And Around Us.
We Need To Allow Our Minds To Be Free,
To Listen To God’s Still Small Voice.
This Is The Number One-Way God Speaks To Us.
In Being Still , We’re Able To Meditate On God’s Word
And Listen To What He Is Saying To Us.
“My Sheep Listen To My Voice; I Know Them, And They Follow Me.”
Jesus Is Lord!
Let Us Pray ;
I Walk Away From The Noise ;
The Worries And Cares Of This World
To Listen To And Trust You For You Are GOD.
You Are My Father, I am Your Child ,
I Carry Your DNA Through Jesus Christ.
I Surrender My Entire Being To You ,
Holy Spirit Speak To Me.
I Silence Every Other Voice That Is
Not Of You And Choose To Listen To Your Voice Lord,
In Jesus Name,

Day 17 – Be Still Challenge⠀
Posture: Cobra (Bhujangasana)⠀
If only you would prepare your heart and lift up your hands to Him in prayer! Job 11:13⠀
Throughout the Bible we see the importance of our prayer postures. Prone or prostate postures are shown as an urgent cry or plead to the Lord out of desperation. Bowing down on the knees, we read this as an act of humility and surrender. Standing prayers are seen as praise and worship, giving thanks to the Lord. Back bends will not only be a posture of praise and worship, but they are also an incredible way to lift your heart and soul to the Lord. Most prone postures are back bends, so you may use these postures for a plea to the Lord as well as an offering of praise.⠀
To you, Lord, I have lifted up my soul. Psalm 25:1⠀
Do you ever wake up in the morning feeling so grateful just to be alive? Does your heart get overwhelmed at the many blessings that you have? Maybe it is as simple as the breath in your body. You know some no longer have this simple pleasure. Perhaps it is as simple as having a car that gets you from point “A” to point “B”. Some days, I wake up and simply want to thank the Lord for waking me up. A standing back bend can help us to pause, stand firm, lift our heart, and praise our Heavenly Father.⠀
Like twists, back bend postures can be incorporated into many postures such as seated, standing, balancing, prone or supine poses. The nervous, digestive, and metabolic systems are all stimulated in back bend postures. They are known to be rejuvenating and invigorating, for this reason it may not be a good idea to practice them near bedtime. ⠀
In any back bend, be reminded of your prayer and praise posture. Also know that these postures are cleansing, rejuvenating and stimulating. You may feel like you went jogging after a back bend, allow the energy and fresh oxygen to flow throughout your body. ⠀
The Lord is my strength and my shield. My heart trusted Him, so I received help. My heart is triumphant;⠀
I give thanks to Him with my song. Ps. 28:7⠀
Another late night session with Jesus, I need to get back to our coffee dates so the tone of my days is set on Him. In the meantime, here are my somewhat sleepy thoughts on James 1 tonight.
I see this almost as a meditation on self-control, on surrendering our human will and desires to those of the Spirit. As we patiently endure trials and temptation, God transforms us to be more like Jesus and our faith grows. A faith that is not only heard, but seen in action. Because faith is a verb, or it is meaningless. We must proclaim His love and then show it, both by obeying His Word and caring for those around us. Let us be the hands and feet of Jesus!
Some people we meet are just meant to be part of our journey and if we insist to overstay beyond that purpose, it will only hurt us.
But we can always stand with them in prayer especially when they need it the most.
12 Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery trial when it comes upon you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you. 13 But rejoice insofar as you share Christ’s sufferings, that you may also rejoice and be glad when his glory is revealed.💯

I don’t know if you’re feeling the same thing as me —that rush that seems to linger long after the holiday season. It’s as if the new year comes with a set of goals we need to achieve, and there’s not a moment to waste. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
But this year, I’ve found myself in a strange place. Since the launch of my book, I’ve felt a clear whisper from the Holy Spirit over and over again: ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
“Stop and rest.” ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I know I just released a devotional all about slowing down, but I just wasn’t expecting that I’d have to follow that advice right now. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It’s something I’ve been praying/wrestling through over the past month, but I’m finally now at peace with the idea of resting. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
You can read more about this on my blog post "Why I’m Choosing Refreshment Over Resolutions for 2019". (link in bio). #theartisanpace
I believe it is vital to acknowledge where we have been in order to move forward with clarity and integrity. To bow down and sit in gratitude, to reflect on our blessings and learnings. In this whirlwind of life, I am sitting still, taking the time to reflect.
2018 has been a big year. Personally I have grown so much and took a massive leap as teacher and facilitator of yoga retreats. I lived in Bali, Sri Lanka, India, Portugal, Germany and Spain. Studied and learned something new every day, spent personal time with my teachers for example with these gifted humans @yogaruparodstryker@suzannefaithyoga or great yogi’s in India (with no IG... ) .
Gained valuable knowledge, which I am going to share with you. I have arrived in Sri Lanka a few day’s ago, where I am going to spend the next months. Now, it’s time to reconnect to my calm and grounding energy and allow the beauty of 2018 to be digested and heard. .

I made it to the ocean a few days ago and right before rare SD rain began to fall. I come here often but it still felt like too long since I had made space. Busy with heavy things and good things I had let the noise of life take more space than the actual space of life, of love. It’s an interesting thing to explore the reasons we can so easily fall into that pattern-it’s a little different for each of us and yet the return is often met with a deep breath, a sense of belonging and a knowing that all is well in the world without us holding it. What can you do to make space this week? This day? This moment?
~An abbreviated repost ~
Day 17 – Be Still Challenge
Posture: #cobra ( #bhujangasana). •If only you would prepare your heart and lift up your hands to Him in prayer! Job 11:13 • To you, Lord, I have lifted up my soul. Psalm 25:1 •
Most prone postures are back bends, so you may use these postures for a plea to the Lord as well as an offering of praise.
Because these poses come from leg strength, the bottom half of your body must be completely engaged for a successful back bend. As we talked about in the Standing Postures, you have to root down in the feet, be strong in the Lord, then you can rise up and lift your heart towards the heavens.
• It was strong and beautiful, with wide-spreading branches, for its roots went deep into abundant water. Ez 31:7 NLT •
Backbends stimulate nervous, digestive, lymph, & metabolic systems (translation- best practiced after waking)- the chest & heart open up, allowing freely flowing breath & countering the caved in fwd posture of life. In any back bend, be reminded of your prayer and praise posture. These postures are cleansing, rejuvenating and stimulating,allow the energy and fresh oxygen to flow throughout your body. Always release any back bend gently and rest a moment if needed. •The Lord is my strength and my shield. My heart trusted Him, so I received help. My heart is triumphant;
I give thanks to Him with my song. Ps. 28:7•
